Where to rent a boat for yacht parties around Singapore

Those who were hoping to get a glimpse of the world’s finest superyachts, boating brands and luxury lifestyle products at the Singapore Yacht Show will unfortunately have to wait a little longer for the annual maritime event to take place. The 2020 edition, which was slated to be held at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove, was recently postponed – again – due to ongoing Covid-19 safe-distancing measures.

The show was originally scheduled for February 2020 and had been initially pushed to October 2020. However, as it’s unlikely that large-scale trade exhibitions will be allowed to take place in Singapore by then, the organisers have decided to push the 10th anniversary edition of the Singapore Yacht Show to April 2021.

If you were looking forward to a glamorous weekend of yacht-hopping, don’t get too glum yet. Here are five yacht rental companies that you can hit up to enjoy a day out on the water.

1. One15 Luxury Yachting

With over 42 vessels to choose from, One15 has the country’s largest fleet of motorised and sailing yachts available for rent or charter. Depending on the size of your party and the type of yacht you choose, you can expect a variety of amenities – from fishing rods and kayaks to TVs, sound systems and jacuzzis – with each vessel accommodating a different number of guests. They have different packages available, including one that comes with a one-night stay at the ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove hotel.

2. The Yacht Club

Believing that yachting is not just for the rich and famous, The Yacht Club offers a fleet of more than 20 vessels at affordable prices. Because of current safe-distancing measures, only five guests are allowed on each charter at once, but that just means more savings for you. For example, if you opt for the Clipper 40, a model that can usually sit 18 guests, it is just $588.50 (usual price: $802.50) for four hours on weekdays.

3. Yachtly

Apart from renting out cruisers, Yachtly also offers event-planning services. Whether you’re looking for a special venue to solemnise your marriage or celebrate a birthday, just let them know and they will organise the entire shindig for you. All yacht rentals include a boat captain and crew members who can help with barbecuing food and setting up the water toys. For just $500+, you can have a fun-filled itinerary that starts with cruises to islands such as Kusu and Saint John’s before dropping anchor at Lazarus. Facilities include kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and an on-board karaoke system.

4. M-Barq by Marine Bookings

More like brokers than actual yacht operators, M-Barq acts as the middle person between you and a yacht operator, so you don’t have to sift through all the different options yourself. Simply tell them what you have in mind for your party and they will sort out the details for you – from the type of vessel most appropriate for your event to the kinds of activities and cuisines available.

5. White Label Charters

With their outsized vessels – some up to 75 feet – White Label Charters offers you a chance to live out your celebrity fantasies out on the water. These larger-than-life catamarans come with luxury facilities such as an en suite grand stateroom with a king bed, several double bedrooms and a karaoke machine and entertainment lounge. The different itineraries are also inclusive of jet-skiing and other water sports, as well as an extensive gourmet menu.

Please check the yacht operators’ respective websites for Covid-19 guidelines, and remember to adhere to safe-distancing measures while out and about.
