Due to the overwhelming response and interest expressed for the Singapore Airlines (SIA) Restaurant A380@Changi initiative, the airline has added more sessions for both lunch and dinner to these dates: 24 October 2020 (Saturday); 25 October 2020 (Sunday); 31 October 2020 (Saturday) and 1 November 2020 (Sunday).
If you didn’t manage to snag a seat the first time round, you can join the waitlist to indicate your interest for the dining experience. The waitlist has been reopened for a limited time from 6pm on Monday (12 October) for those who are keen. Click on “notify me” and key in your email address. Those on the waitlist will be contacted by SIA should there be additional availability for the Restaurant A380@Changi experience.
Slots for the exclusive opportunity to dine on a stationary A380 superjet were all snapped up within half an hour after bookings opened at midnight on 12 October. Initially, only lunch seating was available and it was to take place on two dates: 24 October and 25 October.
The three-hour lunch costs S$50 for a seat in economy, S$90 in premium economy, S$300 in business class and S$600 for the suites, before taxes. Diners can choose either international cuisine or a selection of items from a Peranakan menu specially designed by Singaporean chef Shermay Lee. Two aircraft will be deployed for the dining experience.
The Restaurant A380@Changi initiative is part of a larger effort by the airline to engage its fans on the ground after an unprecedented pandemic grounded flights and brought the aviation industry to a standstill.
Dubbed “Discover Your Singapore Airlines“, the campaign features Restaurant A380@Changi (which includes a pre-dining restaurant tour if you had indicated your interest in the supplementary details form sent upon purchase); a behind-the-scenes tour of SIA Training Centre; and a home-dining experience for two created by SIA’s world-renowned International Culinary Panel chefs.
