This wine subscription service uses a sophisticated algorithm to create a wine profile catered to your individual tastes and preferences. Start by choosing whether you prefer to receive a bottle every other week (S$88 monthly), every week (S$168 monthly) or two bottles per week (S$328 monthly). Then take their online quiz, where you’ll be posed a series questions such as the type of mouthfeel you go for, how tannic you like your teas and things you’d never want to taste in a wine. A selection is then curated according to your answers – but the best part is, you don’t know exactly which bottles are coming. Enter your details, make payment and wait for your surprise.
2. HerVelvetVase’s Moodbox
This service helps you dress according to your mood with a personalised box curated by a stylist. Sign up for a one-off monthly box or a three- or six-month subscription, each containing S$88, S$90 or S$150 worth of products. (Your monthly bill runs between S$50 and S$110, depending on the size of your box and duration of your subscription.) Then key in your sizes, body shape and colour preference and “mood” – which can range from glamorous or futuristic to happy and bright, and be changed monthly – and wait for a box full of goodies to arrive. Past boxes have included a range of beauty products, apparel, accessories and vouchers. Way to spice up your wardrobe.
3. Boxgreen’s Build Your Own Box
If you often get an attack of the munchies while working but want to graze on something nutritious, this healthy snack provider ticks all the boxes. Local company Boxgreen is rolling out a new build-your-own box that gets shipped to you regularly. Choose up to five different snacks from 25 varieties and opt for weekly or bi-weekly shipments at S$24 per package. The snacks are portion-controlled and sans artificial colouring and flavouring, which make for great guilt-free snacking.
4. Citizen Farm’s Citizen Box
Get your five a day with a regular supply of greens and fruits sent to your home. Choose between two plans – S$35 a week for a 12-week subscription or S$40 a week for an 8-week subscription – and receive a box filled with a variety of leafy greens such as kale, lettuce, kai lan and bok choy, mushrooms, herbs such as mint and basil and edible flowers. The contents vary from week to week and are grown in an urban farm in Singapore, with help from employees with special needs – so your purchase is made all the more meaningful as it helps support locals, socially disadvantaged individuals as well as the sustainability movement.
5. No Make No Live’s beauty box
This adorable pink box is filled with Japanese and Korean products hard to find in Singapore. Each box is shipped from Tokyo with eight to nine make-up, skincare and bath products as well as beauty tools according to a particular theme. You can choose from month-by-month, three-month, six-month and 12-month plans, and the price per month gets cheaper with a longer subscription. June’s box contained a bubble lip pack, animal-shaped foaming net for facial washing and an Etude House Heart Blossom Blush; while May’s box had a Kirby makeup pouch and a Jin x Gudetama sheet mask, among other products.
6. Ask a French’s weekly subscription
Refresh every area in your home with fragrant and fresh blossoms by signing up for this delivery service. Upon signing up, a unique floral arrangement created with seasonal flowers will be sent every Thursday for eight weeks . Prices vary depending on the size of the bouquet you choose, but no two arrangements are the same. Head florist Aude Giraud takes inspiration from the beauty of nature and classic still-life paintings, so you can expect rustic, whimsical creations that are simply delightful.
7. My Paper Box
Give your workspace a refresh – and make your notes to others more personal and fun – with this stationery subscription box. Each item you receive is personalised, with your name inscribed on the items in some form. You could go for a mini box – where for US$13 a month you’ll receive three personalised notebooks – or shell out US$28 a month for the grand box – a cool package of personalised stationery and more (think calendars, coasters, desk accessories and stickers). However, be prepared to top-up an additional US$20 international shipping fee for your purchase. Past boxes include animal, floral and beach themes. Equal parts sophisticated and cute, these are pricey but will bring a smile to your face.
8. Avo & Co
If you like more variety in your vegetable deliveries, Avo & Co, run by two brothers, offers weekly boxes of fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables from around the globe – Europe, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore – packed in paper and recycled plastic containers. You can also choose what goes in your box while adding in Aussie and Kiwi meats, hormone-free poultry, seafood, eggs, fresh breads and luxury products like French butter and organic chocolate. Avo & Co has recently started adding cheeses, Japanese milk, coffee and handcrafted kombucha. There are even enclosed recipe cards so you have ideas on how to use up some of the more advanced contents.
