As staying at home is now the new ‘going out’, party scenes have shifted over video calls for most of us. Besides restaurants are pushing the envelope by bringing the cocktail experience to your doorstep; going that extra mile to keep their clients in high spirits. Various restaurants and bars have started delivering DIY kits for premixes of their signature cocktails where all you need to do is add alcohol. Thanks to the liquor shops being open, most of us are well stocked on booze. So if you are missing heading out and sipping on your favourite cocktail, here are a few places that will get you ahead of your game.

“You get the booze, we get the mixers” is their new mantra. The pioneers of delivering cocktail premixes post which numerous brands followed suit. As a part of their #SOCIALOffline experience, they have collaborated with major delivery channels to deliver their cocktail DIY kits in three cities- Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chandigarh. Customers can choose from a total of six mixers – bloody mary, margarita, cosmopolitan, pina colada, man tai, dope martini, each priced at Rs.150. And all you need to do is add your favourite liquor.
Elephant & Co, Pune
They have recently started delivering DIY premixes of their signature cocktails for ease and enjoyment of having cocktails at home. Since delivering alcohol wasn’t an option, they decided to offer non-alcoholic cocktail premixes. Some of these include gin fomo with tonic water and their classic bloody mary. You then mix your favourite liquor and enjoy it.
Their elderflower spritzer premix with flavours of cucumber, berries, and whiskey sour premixes with Amalfi lemons and homemade tea bitters are most popular. To keep their guests engaged, new variants are offered weekly. “The response has been overwhelming”, says Sasmit Manjrekar, Head of Operations, Elephant and Co. “A total of 2000 units have already been sold in 2 weeks”, he adds.

Fig & Maple, Delhi
The idea of DIY cocktails began when they started getting a steady stream of queries from guests to share the recipes of their cocktail mixes, amidst the lockdown. “There were a lot of people telling us how much they missed coming to Fig & Maple and having their favourite drinks with us”, says Radhika Khandelwal, chef and owner at Fig & Maple. “This was the best way to stay connected with our guests”, she adds. Thus, was born the cocktail premix kit which guests could experience at home.
Each kit includes the cocktail mix, the mixer, garnish, and a set of instructions. All you have to do is add alcohol. Their cocktail premixes are centred on local and seasonal ingredients that are sourced directly from local farmers. As a part of their hyperlocal and hyper-seasonal philosophy, new flavours are added every week depending on what farmers offer them. Current bestsellers include flavours blue pea (aparajita) and seasonal summer fruits like lychee and cherry. To go with the cocktail, a snack is also provided based on the guests’ choice.
