As COVID-19 continues to spread, India has denied entry to the cruise ships on its harbours.
Cruise ships are considered as a fertile breeding ground for the coronavirus as it can easily spread from one person to many.
Since early February, passengers and crew on multiple cruise ships have been quarantined, from the 3600 people confined to a World Dream ship in Hong Kong to the nearly 3700 quarantined on the Diamond Princess in Japan. According to reports, most of the latter were kept on the ship for two weeks, and more than 700 coronavirus cases were ultimately confirmed.

Further, closely monitoring travel across all borders, Indian government has closed the Kartarpur corridor for an indefinite period. No traveller will be allowed to cross the border, while the Indians returning shall be allowed but they’ll all be quarantined for a period of 14 days.
After the World Health Organisation declared the outbreak of the COVID-19 as a pandemic, the government of India had suspended all visas except a few like diplomatic and employment. Post the same, movement to from other countries is being strictly monitored. The government also “strongly advised” Indians to avoid all non-essential travel abroad.
Meanwhile, cruise lines like Princess and Viking Cruises have suspended sailings until May, and Virgin Voyages has delayed its inaugural season until July.
