Travel bans, lockdowns and partial shutdowns are being implemented as countries work to contain the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. The situation is rapidly evolving, and checking the most up-to-date government sources is always advised, but here is a list of how countries are dealing with the outbreak.
On Monday, 16 March, the Indian government announced that it would ban all travel to and from the EU, the UK and Turkey. It has also ordered compulsory 14-day quarantine for passengers coming from or transiting through UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, China and South Korea. As of 13 March, the Indian government suspended most travel and tourism visas until 15 April, with the exception of diplomatic, official, UN/international organizations, employment and project visas.

In most African countries, travel from virus infected places has been prohibited and borders have been locked. For the citizens returning home, instructions for self-quarantining have been issued.
In Americas, countries like Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia have banned entry of foreign nationals, also leading to suspension of flights. Canada has closed its borders for non-citizens and non-residents, US citizens being exempt. USA declared a travel ban for all of Europe, also shutting all bars, nightclubs and cinemas in major cities.
In other Asian countries, people with travel history to mainland China, Italy, Iran, Spain and several affected countries are being denied entry.
Australia and New Zealand have also placed restrictions along the borders and all flights have been suspended. A 14-day self-isolation is recommended for anyone travelling back home.
In Europe too, travel restrictions have been imposed. Schools and universities have also been closed temporarily.
