Imagine yourself on a Gondola ride that gives you the majestic views of the Shivalik Range and snow covered deodar forests below! It’s almost like flying alongside the clouds at a height of 6,640-feet.
Around two and half hours from the Jammu airport lies Sanget (3 km from the Chenani-Nashri tunnel), the newest attraction for a world-class ropeway experience. This cable car ropeway happens to be ones India’s latest addition when it comes to adventure tourism. This ropeway that connects Sanget to Patnitop is nothing less than a fairy-tale ride. Flying over the lush snow covered deodar forests it gives a drone view of this picturesque place.
Patnitop had always been a well-known tourist destination but this initiative of “Skyview Patnitop” by Empyrean to build a cable car has given this place a facelift. This Indo-French collaboration in mountain infrastructure makes it India’s highest ropeway with over 65- metre ground clearance and the longest span of 849 metres between eight towers and sees two terminals between Sanget and Patnitop. The Lower Terminal stands at 1343.17 meters while the Upper Terminal is at an altitude of 1998 meters above the sea level.
