1. Istana Park, Singapore (1.3ha)

The main attraction is its 26m-wide Festival Arch that serves as a symbolic gateway to Singapore’s Civic District as well as the city-state’s rich history.

2. Golden Gate Park, San Francisco (411ha)

The third-most-visited city park in the US, it’s home to the oldest public Japanese garden in the country, as well as the famous Conservatory of Flowers.

3. Izmaylovsky Park, Moscow (1,534ha)

This sprawling green space encompasses a recreation park, where you’ll find an amusement park and a forest, packed with phenomenal tracks for cycling.

4. Lee Valley Park, London (4,046ha)

The 42km-long park follows the River Lea from Hertfordshire to London’s East India Dock. Aside from the usual trails, it’s also known for its sports centres – the southern half of Lee Valley Park was turned into the Olympic Park for the 2012 Summer Olympics and Paralympics.

5. Bukhansan National Park, Seoul (7,992ha)

This stunning park offers access to three mountain peaks and numerous trails; many enjoy walking along the defensive wall of Bukhansanseong Fortress, which dates back to the 1700s.
