SIA to boost tourism to Western Australia and Japan

SIA Western Australia JapanIn an effort to increase traveller numbers to Singapore Airlines (SIA) destinations across the network, SIA has signed a cooperative marketing agreement with Tourism Western Australia (TWA) jointly promoting tourism to Western Australia. SIA also agreed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) with the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), enhancing cooperation in the promotion of travel and tourism to Japan from five key markets.

To promote travel to Western Australia, SIA will participate in jointly funded marketing campaigns in 10 key international by way of SIA’s services to Perth. Meanwhile, SIA and JNTO will also be making significant investments to boost marketing activities that promote tourism to Japan from Singapore, Australia, India, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Through the MOC, JNTO and SIA will work closely in joint promotional activities to help achieve Japan’s goal of welcoming 40 million inbound tourists in 2020. This is the first time JNTO has announced a partnership with an airline.

Currently, SIA operates a total of 137 flights weekly to Australia and 77 flights weekly to four cities in Japan, namely Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka. Regional subsidiary SilkAir also operates seven services weekly to both Cairns and Darwin, plus three services weekly to Hiroshima.
